Air Niugini, has recently signed an agreement with Rolls Royce in the United Kingdom (UK) for its Trent 1000 engine, chosen for the airline's Boeing 787 Dreamliner order. According to Air Niugini's acting chief executive officer Gary Seddon, this decision showcases the airline's dedication to operational efficiency, reliability, and environmental sustainability. Seddon stated, "By signing the Rolls Royce TotalCare agreement, Air Niugini also reinforces its commitment to investing in cutting-edge technologies that enhance operational capabilities and elevate the travel experience for our valued customers."
The Trent 1000 engine, manufactured by Rolls Royce, is renowned for its outstanding performance, efficiency, and low emissions. Seddon further highlighted its advanced features, stating, "Its enhanced fuel efficiency and improved maintenance program enable the optimization of operations and cost reduction, ensuring long-term sustainability, profitability, and better value airfares."
The Minister for State Owned Enterprises, William Duma, expressed his support for Air Niugini's decision, emphasizing the importance of aligning with reputable suppliers and global brands to ensure the safe and competent operation of the fleet. Duma commended Air Niugini, stating, "This strategic selection aligns perfectly with Air Niugini's vision to provide world-class air travel services while minimizing environmental impact.
