The long-term answer for connecting the Central province with the Southern area would be to build a train transit infrastructure.
Sir Puka Temu, Member of Parliament for Abau, believes that constructing a railway system will be a fantastic method to link people and enhance the province's infrastructure.
During the Central Provincial Development Forum in Port Moresby, he addressed these remarks.
He believes that infrastructure such as the train system should be built to assist alleviate the burden of high transportation expenses and to slow the growth of infrastructure, particularly highways.
“Central has enormous potential to become the economic hub of the country with the vast resources and lands availability,” he said.
“We need a centralised concept and decentralise the initial business structures and look into the public-private partnership (PPP) model going forward.”
He also stated that the people are astute business people and that by working together, Central Province will grow once more.
“We need to take leadership into the programs we are running and develop ways that could empower our people at the village level,” he said.
