The Australian government has prolonged the ban of foreign arrivals into Cairns until the end of this month.
This is in order to manage the possibility of incoming travellers subsequently testing positive for COVID-19 during their stay in quarantine facilities.
As a result, flights from Papua New Guinea to Cairns have been cancelled from June 19 to June 30.
Passengers with Cairns flight tickets at this time should contact Air Niugini or their travel agent to discuss rebooking possibilities.
Air Niugini continues to offer six weekly flights to Brisbane and one weekly flight to Sydney.
Air Niugini apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks to its customers for their patience and understanding as it navigates these new border restrictions.
