The PNG Economic Database was inaugurated in Port Moresby by Minister for Treasury Ian Ling-Stuckey.
The PNG Economic Database, which dates back to 2012, was created in collaboration between the Crawford School of Australia National University and the UPNG School of Business and Public Policy.
PNG Economic Database, according to Ling-Stuckey, is a free resource that covers 160 economic indicators and is comprehensive in coverage, since several of the data date back to independence.
He claims that the database and website offer important analysis of major economic aspects across time and that the analysis is required reading for anybody interested in economic policy and development in PNG.
“The time and effort put into creating this database have made our economic data more accessible.
This will help students, researchers and the private sector to contribute to informed public policy debate and better model our economy.”
